Using a winter glove seemed like a good way to make the canvas-stretching pliers easier to hold; however, at the end of the day, my hand is numb anyway.
Small rocket under construction. When finished, it will replace an earlier version used in “Long Voyage”.
Pen and ink drawings printed as wall paper and installed with the painting at the Art Museum of the Americas for the exhibition Ripple Effect: Currents of Socially Engaged Art. The embroidered mask and photos were created by the ASCHOY Collective in 2007 as part of ongoing artistic research and engagements in La Paz, Bolivia. I was invited to contribute the drawings and painting for the installation of ASHCOY’s work at AMA. A more detailed description of the project can be found on my blog.
